Whit Float Meeting - Thursday
The Float committee had another very successful meeting last week. If you and/or your child feel you could play a part in the team (no matter how small – even a couple of hours work would be a big help) please complete the slip over leaf and return to school asap. They would also like to request as many clean empty plastic milk bottles as you can provide, please send them into school. Also, if anyone has a trolley/cart that they could use please call into school or contact Sam Slade. Thank you.

Clubs
Please note this week is the last of the current run of cookery club.

Year 6 Trip to Liverpool Philharmonic
This Tuesday (9th March) Year 6 will be attending a performance by the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in Preston. Please ensure all children attending this concert have a packed lunch in school tomorrow as they will not return until after the school lunch hour. Thank you.

Speed Stacking
The speed stacking team will be visiting Winmarleigh School on Thursday this week. If your child has been chosen please make sure that you return the permission slip by Wednesday this week and that they have a packed lunch in school on Thursday morning. Thank you.

Creative & Effective Week
As you are aware, the Creative & Effective trainee teachers are in school this week working on the theme of “Enterprise”. On Friday afternoon, children will be sharing their ideas or selling products based on the week’s activities. We would like to invite you in to school to share the work your children have done this week. Thank you.

Cross Country Race
Unfortunately, the organizers at the High School have postponed the cross country event organized for 16th March. It will now take place on 20th April.

School Travel Plan TONIGHT
In order to address some of the congestion issues around school and ensure all children can travel to school safely we would like to ask parents and friends of the school to attend a travel plan meeting TODAY Monday March 8th at 3.15pm. In previous years parents have organized a “walking bus” scheme to bring children to school and we would be particularly interested in hearing from anyone who might like to be involved in restarting this scheme. Thank you.

School Day
Recently, we have noticed an increase in the number of children arriving at school after the register has been taken. Registers are monitored regularly. Persistent latecomers will be contacted before the end of this term. Please may we remind you that the classroom doors open at 8.40am and the register is taken at the start of the school day at 8.50am. Thank you.
